Faro municipality beaches
Praia da Barrinha is very quiet and usually deserted. Due to the natural conditions it is a perfect beach for birdwatching, hiking, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and SUP. It can be accessed on foot from Praia de Faro, through a long wooden walkway, or by boat. This beach is not supervised nor does it have support infrastructure.

Praia da Culatra, on the island with the same name, still preserves its roots as a fishing village and has a population of approximately 750 inhabitants. Access to Culatra is only by boat. There are connections from Olhão, all year round, and from Faro, from Cais da Porta Nova. This beach is supervised and has toilets during the bathing season but has no other support infrastructure.

Try the "Arroz de Lingueirão", a typical Algarvian dish. The lifeguard service is provided at six beach posts. Access to Praia de Faro is via a bridge, where traffic can circulate by car or by boat.
